Newspaper Chase

All players stand or sit side by side in a row. One player stands in front of them holding the rolled-up newspaper. This player gently taps three players in a row on the knee or hand with the newspaper. The third player tapped has to give chase.

The “newspaper tapper” drops the newspaper at a spot agreed on beforehand, a little way off (a chair, for example), and tries to take the spot in the row that has just opened up. Meanwhile the chaser tries to grab the newspaper and catch the tapper with it before they reach the gap.

If the chaser succeeds, the tapper gets another turn. If not, the chaser becomes the new tapper, taps three players, and the third one becomes the new chaser.
