Pulse is free. These terms set out what you may do with our content and how we treat each other. The provider is Pulse Ministries gemeinnützige GmbH, Am Pfarracker 23, 64395 Brensbach, Germany (“Pulse” or “we”).
1. Scope
These terms apply to the website thepulse.org in all its language versions, to the free membership, the newsletters and the live trainings. They do not apply to donations; donations go through Vereinigte Deutsche Missionshilfe e. V. (VDM).
2. Free membership
All you need for a membership is an email address. There are no costs and no minimum term. You can unsubscribe from the newsletters at any time and have your account deleted at any time. We may delete an account if it hasn’t been used for more than two years or if it violates these terms. What we do with your data is explained in the privacy policy.
3. What you may do with our content
Pulse is made for practice. Posts, lessons, games and resources that we created ourselves may be used freely for your work with young people: in church, youth group, school, camp and family. You may download them, print them, share them with your team, adapt them and rewrite them for your group. We only ask for a brief mention of Pulse when you pass material on to others.
What’s not allowed: selling our content, presenting it as your own, or publishing entire posts on other websites, in apps or in collections. If you would like to reuse content on a larger scale, for example for a publication or a platform, just ask us: team@thepulse.org.
4. Content from partners
Many posts come from partners and authors who are named below the post. The rights remain with them. You may read this content on Pulse and use it for your own work with young people, but not redistribute it, translate it or publish it on other platforms. Bible texts are quoted from the translation indicated in each case; the terms of the respective rights holder apply to them.
5. Comments and reviews
We welcome comments that help others. Please write the way you would talk to us at the table: respectfully, without insults, without advertising, without content you don’t hold the rights to. We remove comments and reviews that violate this. By submitting, you grant us the right to show your comment or review on Pulse and in our newsletters.
6. Live trainings
Taking part in live trainings is free and, unless stated otherwise, possible without registering for the specific date. Trainings may be recorded and shown later on Pulse; we point this out at the start. Participants only appear in the recording if they turn on their camera or microphone themselves.
7. Liability
We create our content with care but cannot guarantee that it is accurate, complete or up to date. The responsibility for using games, exercises and materials lies with you; check them for your group beforehand, especially games involving movement or outdoor activities. The providers of external pages we link to are responsible for their content. We are liable without limitation for intent, gross negligence and damage to life, body or health; otherwise only for the breach of essential contractual obligations and limited to the foreseeable, typical damage.
8. Availability
Pulse is a free service. We strive to keep it running permanently but cannot rule out maintenance, disruptions or the discontinuation of individual features. There is no entitlement to availability.
9. Changes
We may adapt these terms if our service or the legal situation changes. We announce significant changes to members by email. If you keep using Pulse afterwards, the new terms apply.
10. Law and dispute resolution
German law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protective provisions of the country you live in remain unaffected. We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board. If you have questions, just write to us: team@thepulse.org. We almost always find a solution by talking.
