Pulse gets by almost without cookies. There are no advertising cookies and no tracking cookies, and our visitor statistics work entirely without cookies. What we do set is listed here in full.

Cookies the site needs

  • cc_cookie: stores your decision in the cookie notice so we don’t ask you again on every visit. Valid for six months. Set by our own system.
  • ghost-members-ssr and ghost-members-ssr.sig: keep you signed in as a member after you’ve logged in via the link in the email. Valid for six months, set by our website. They are not set unless you sign in.

These cookies are necessary for the site to work and don’t require consent (§ 25 (2) of the German TDDDG).

Browser storage without cookies

Some features remember things in your browser (local storage). This data never leaves your device:

  • tozan_pinned: your saved items in the finder.
  • tozan_finder_data: a cache of the list of posts for ten minutes so the finder loads faster.
  • ghost-attribution: the page through which you came to us. If you sign up, we store this origin once as a signup statistic.
  • Session ID for statistics: a random ID that lets the built-in visitor statistics group the page views of one visit. It contains no data about you and expires after a short time.

Third-party cookies

If a post contains a video from YouTube or Vimeo, the respective provider may set its own cookies when you play it. We have no control over that; details are in our privacy policy under “Embedded content”.

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the necessary cookies, signing in as a member won’t work.
