🎲
Group: 4+ · Where: Indoors · Materials: slips of paper, pens and a container for the slips · Skills: creativity, expression, teamwork

Each player writes three words on separate slips of paper. The slips are shuffled and put into one shared pile.

💡
Tip: Adjust the number of words per player to the size of the group.

The group splits into two or more teams. Four rounds are played. The words stay the same in every round; only the way they are explained or acted out changes. Each round lasts until every word has been guessed once, so you might get several turns in a round, or none.

  • Round 1, explaining: A player draws a slip and explains the word without using the word itself. Their team tries to guess it within a set time.
  • Round 2, charades: This time the words are acted out, without any words.
  • Round 3, one word: The player may use only a single word to get their teammates to the word on the slip.
  • Round 4, sounds: The word is communicated through sounds only, no words and no gestures.

For every word guessed correctly, the team gets a point. The team with the most points at the end of the four rounds wins. Since everyone knows the words from the earlier rounds, funny inside jokes tend to develop that make the game especially entertaining.
