## How it works

Split up into three groups: Group A, Group B and the Sound Wall.

- Group A and Group B face each other about 30 feet apart.
- The Sound Wall stands in the middle between the two groups.
- Group A comes up with a sentence or a message they want to pass on to Group B.
- The Sound Wall’s goal is to shout or make noise so loudly at the starting signal that Group B can’t understand Group A’s message.
- I give the starting signal, and Group A tries to get its message across to Group B while the Sound Wall tries to prevent it.

## Reflection

- What did you do to hear what was being shouted?
- What did you do to get your message across?
- What did you do to drown out the sentence?
- What surprised you?
- Were there moments when you thought, “This isn’t working!”? What could you have done differently?
- Where do you see parallels to situations with your parents where you clashed?
- What contributed to the communication breaking down in situations like that?
- What feelings did that stir up in you?
- Which inner voices or beliefs might be part of why you sometimes feel unheard or misunderstood?
- How do you think these beliefs or thought patterns influence your communication and your relationship with your parents?
- Are there certain triggers that make you withdraw or shut down communication? How could you recognize and manage them better in the future?
- What do you think you could do differently in the future to improve communication with your parents and avoid misunderstandings?

📖

If you want to connect the reflection with biblical truth, I recommend [Ephesians 6:1-3](https://www.bible.com/bible/111/EPH.6.1-3.NIV?ref=thepulse.org), [Proverbs 6:20-22](https://www.bible.com/bible/111/PRO.6.20-22.NIV?ref=thepulse.org) and [Proverbs 30:17](https://www.bible.com/bible/111/PRO.30.17.NIV?ref=thepulse.org). Use the [inductive method](https://thepulse.org/en/inductive-bible-study/) for that.
